Jeff Hooke, Managing Director, founded the firm in 1999. He was formerly an investment banker with Lehman Brothers and Schroder Wertheim, respectively. He was also a merchant banker for Emerging Markets Partnership, a $5 billion private equity fund specializing in developing nations, and International Finance Corporation, the $40 billion private sector affiliate of the World Bank.
Mr. Hooke has closed over 100 M&A transactions, public offerings, private financings, project financings, and debt restructurings. He has completed over 100 valuation assignments both in the U.S. and abroad, for the purposes of stock options, spinoffs, tax filings, litigation disputes, and merger fairness opinions. He has appeared as an expert witness in federal and state court, as well as in state legislatures.
He is the author of three authoritative books: M&A, A Practical Guide to Doing the Deal; Security Analysis on Wall Street: A Comprehensive Guide to Today’s Valuation Methods (required reading for the CFA exam); and The Emerging Markets: A Practical Guide for Corporations, Lenders and Investors. He is a frequent lecturer for universities and corporate groups, and he is quoted in the business media on a regular basis.
Mr. Hooke holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania.
