Jeffrey Hooke the author of Security Analysis on Wall Street will be discussing his book which is going to second edition. Barron’s called it “ a welcome a successor to Graham and Dodd”. Jeffrey Hooke is Managing Director of Hooke Associates, LLC, an corporate finance consulting practice based in Bethesda, Maryland. The firm provides advisory services regarding mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and valuation. Mr. Hooke will also discuss the relative performance of private equity.
Previously, he was a Director of Emerging Markets Partnership, a $5 billion private equity partnership specializing in the emerging markets; a principal investment officer of the World Bank Group; and an investment banker with Lehman Brothers and Schroder Wertheim, respectively, two prominent securities firms based in New York.
Mr. Hooke is the author of: The Dinosaur Among Us: The World Bank and Its Path to Extinction, The Emerging Markets, Security Analysis on Wall Street and M&A, A Practical Guide to Doing the Deal. A portion of Security Analysis on Wall Street is required reading for the CFA exam. He holds a BS from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School.
Mr. Hooke is a native of Baltimore and attended Baltimore City public schools. In addition to teaching at several universities. He is the unpaid, volunteer Chairman of the Maryland Tax Education Foundation, a non profit, non partisan research institute that focuses on budget and tax issues in the state of Maryland |
